So, today’s post is pretty self-explanatory. I wanted to share with you guys how I do my make-up every day and what products I use. Of course, at the time of this shoot, I completely blanked and forgot to do after photos…oops. But in every one of my pictures on Instagram (pretty much) I am wearing this same exact make-up routine, so you can check there for “after” pictures.
I have recently tried to make the switch from high end products, basically Sephora, to drug-store. So far I have made the switch on everything except for foundation, eyebrow pen, eyebrow gel, and blush and highlighter. (*At the time of the shoot, I didn’t have a blush but I just bought one. I’ll link it below!) I have my eyes on a couple drug-store highlighters, so when I find a new one I will do an update.
I start off with primer and make sure to rub it all over my face. I notice a difference, but not a huge difference. A difference big enough though where I choose to buy primer, if that makes sense.
I then go in with my beauty blender and foundation and cover my whole face. I don’t have time to re-apply throughout my day, so I just go ahead and buy a full coverage all day wear product.
Then I set my make-up with finishing powder. I feel like this powder is a really good dupe for high ends like Laura Mercier. It works perfect in my opinion and it’s so cheap!
Next I fill in my brows with a brow pen. I don’t really have any particular way I do them, I just follow my natural outline.
Then I go in with bronzer. I usually contour my cheeks, nose, and outer edges of my face. But if I’m in a rush, I only do my cheeks.
Then I highlight the top of my cheeks with a fan brush and lightly dust it on. I’m pretty oily, so I try not to drag a lot of attention to my skin.
I then go in with a blush, and the new one that is not pictured is matte as well. It’s a more mauvey color, but like I said I like to stick with the matte and less pinky tones.
After I’m finished with my face I work on my eyes. I start with priming my eyelashes with my eyelash primer and waiting for it to dry, and then I do a second layer of primer. Then I go in with about 3 or 4 coats of mascara using two different kinds.
After I finish my mascara, I’m all set! I sometimes go in with a setting spray if I am going to be on the go all day, but if I’m not in too much of a rush then I just leave it.
So, this isn’t anything fancy, but this is what I wear on a day to day basis. Once I leave in the morning for either school or work, I usually am not back until later that night. So, having a full face is a must for me since I never know who I am going to see or what I am going to be doing sometimes. I hope you enjoyed this post, and my next beauty related one will be about my favorite drugstore lip products. Stay tuned!
XO,
