Overleaf Lodge & Spa Review

Boy is this place a beauty.  *Insert heart eyes here*.  This is my second time staying at the Overleaf Lodge & Spa, and I can simply say it gets better every time!  It is located on the Coast of Oregon, about 3 hours away from the Portland airport in a city called Yachats.  Yachats has a population of about 700 people, and is a very quiet and remote town located far from other cities.

So, I’m sure you are wondering how I ended up in this small town basically in the middle of no where.  Like I mentioned previously, this is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel and been to Yachats.  The first time I came was to celebrate the engagement of my sister and her future husband, and now I am here to celebrate the marriage of my sister and new brother-in-law!  Since this is our second stay here at the Overleaf, I thought I would round up a review about the hotel and specific high points of our stays here!

Whether you are flying into the Eugene airport or Portland airport, the drive to get here is pretty gnarly.  Coming from someone who is experienced in driving here late at night after dark, make sure if you ever come this way to come during the daytime.  The roads to get here are long, and narrow, and if you get stuck in cold weather you want to be able to make sure it is bright out to see what is going on around you!

Once you arrive to the hotel, you have cottages that are located to your right, and the hotel and lobby located on your right.  The hotel is about three stories tall, located right on the ocean.  The cottages are a handful of homes that are some privately owned and others are rented or booked for stays by the hotels.  All of the rooms are decorated with a nature theme, dedicated mostly to Oregon.  The rooms give off a nature vibe along with green colors and brown accents to the furniture.  When staying at the Overleaf, you are definitely given the “lodging” feel with the interior of the hotel and also the location.

The hotel offers wine tasting, s’mores by the fire right next to the ocean, a game room, a spa computer room, library, and also breakfast every morning in the dining area.  Since Yachats is such a small place in general, the hotel is not meant for a large capacity by any means.  When I say dining area, I mean it is right next to the lobby, with a nice set up and breakfast.  Like I said, Yachats is nothing like Los Angeles, and is in a quiet hidden location in Oregon so nothing here is fancy or big.  The Overleaf would be the perfect place to stay if you are looking for somewhere to relax, be close with nature, and still have some things to venture out and see.  When staying in the hotel with the Spa I mentioned earlier, the spa offers full packages with facials and massages, waxing, and a lot more!

The Overleaf lodge is exactly what I think of when wanting to go somewhere secluded, cold, and beautiful.  It is close to nature, a beautiful site to see, right next to the ocean, and plenty of things to do and see.  If you are looking for a vacation with these types of traits and aspects, I would totally reccomend making your way to Oregon!

XO,

Danielle Alana
