Wedding Diary #4 | Holy Shit, I’m Getting Married

Yes, you read the title of this correctly. I try not to use bad words on any of my social media pieces, but this time— it’s appropriate. Holy shit, I’m getting married. In three days! Last time I did a wedding diary (only 7 days ago), I poured my heart out. If you missed it, you can read it here. I talked about the stressful moments, the heart ache, and really just all of my feelings. Not to mention everything I said was going to happen, did! My bachelorette (a BLAST), ear wax removal surgery (so fun), and. Without further ado, here is the FINAL, wedding checklist…

Ha, only two things changed. My hair is ready to go and Tim’s outfit is picked up! The rest of what is left (honeymoon stuff, spa appointments) is all happening either June 7th or not until after the wedding. We waited a week in between the wedding and the honeymoon because we wanted to be here for Father’s Day, and not miss it completely by being on a long flight. All of my checklists compared back to back, you can see a huge jump between diary 2 and 3. I basically finished everything during that time period. When I visioned it from the start, I totally thought it was going to be done in more equal parts. Instead, I just kind of went into “let’s get finish everything” mode which left me two weeks out from the wedding with everything crossed off the checklist. Looking back, I wish I maybe spread it out more evenly so I wasn’t so flustered trying to cram everything in. On the other side though, being two weeks away from my wedding and having nothing to do…the best! It must have been all the horror stories about doing last minute things the night before your wedding that kicked me into gear. 😉

Since I got all the emotions out in last weeks wedding diary, this week is plain and simple, straight to the point. The big day is 3 days away. All I have left to do is enjoy myself at rehearsal dinner, enjoy girl time before then, and marry my best friend. Sounds like the best “all I have left to do” list I’ve ever heard! Really though, the whole point of me doing these wedding diaries was to let you all in on the wedding planning process. Not only that, but also for me to have something to look back on in the future to read and also (hopefully!) show my children one day. Now that this is the last diary, it does make me a little sad! I know some of you found me and my blog through wedding related stuff- whether it was a giveaway, my wedding dress try-on, or just on Instagram. I’ve said it before, but connecting with my followers and creating relationships with you guys truly is one of the best parts of doing this whole thing. If you aren’t engaged or not even close to it, I hope everything I’ve documented can someday help you in the future. If you’re engaged, I wish you the best of luck during your wedding planning process and hope you’ve had fun following along and going though the same steps together! If you’re already married, or have been for awhile, I hope all this wedding talk didn’t annoy you TOO much. And, I hope this brought back all the memories you had while you were in my shoes, and maybe you got to relive it a little.

Whatever step you are at in life, I hope all of this wedding talk benefitted you in one way or another. And, I thank you truly for letting me open up to you guys about everything in the past 9 months. For letting me talk your ear off, complain a little (ok maybe a lot), and sharing everything with you. It has been so much fun, and I can’t wait to share future seasons of life with you all.

Now, for the moment that has seemed so far away, but is somehow already here…so long, wedding diaries.

XO,

Danielle Alana
