It’s time for a MAJOR update! Back in May I decided to take a step back and look at my skin care routine. I was craving change, and also being very newly pregnant, I wanted to make sure all the products I was using were 100% pregnancy safe. Most of them were, but as you all know I have struggled with acne for a long time. I wanted to get in control of my skin this Spring, but it required a lot of expensive appointments and also medication–neither that were pregnancy approved. Since I knew we were close to trying, I decided to not even waste the money and just live with it the way it was. My friend ended up introducing me to Beauty Counter, which honestly wasn’t new to me. I had heard of it for years prior but just never really jumped into using the products. After having the same routine for 3 years, I decided I wanted to add in some new products to see what else was out there.
After doing this routine for 4 months now, I can honestly say I love it. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin and am happy to see it going in the direction I want it to. I fully believe that my acne will never go away and that it is always something that I will have to deal with in my life. It’s just a card that I was dealt, and it’s truly not that bad when you look at the positive side of things. I’ve definitely learned to grow confident in my skin and also realize that I’m not getting a new face. So, I need to take care of what I have and make the best of it. While I would love to go in for intense skin treatments, and I plan on doing so one day, it’s just not on the books right now. I’m 5 months pregnant, and will either be pregnant or breastfeeding for the next few years. So while I’m in this season of life, playing around with new products and changing my skincare routine to work with me is what I’m doing!
Like I mentioned above, my friend introduced me to Beauty Counter. I decided to take their skin quiz to help decide what products were best for me to help my acne prone skin. It was pretty clear that I should use the Counter Control line, so I dove right into buying the bundle deal to get more bang for my buck. If you have acne prone skin like me, I suggest trying this line too, but of course–take the quiz just to be sure!
I have a highlight on my profile that I will save my skin care videos too so you can follow along and watch later. For now, this is what I’m doing in the AM!
I like to wash my face with this pore cleanser, with barely any water. I find it works better as I can feel it working into my skin getting off anything and everything.
I go in with this toner next, and I really appreciate that it doesn’t leave me feeling greasy! It dries up my skin which is great for my acne prone skin, and takes off any excess left behind before prepping my face for the day.
If I have any blemishes, after my toner dries is when I treat them. A small dab of this on any of my problem areas goes a long way.
If I could recommend only one moisturizer, it would be this one. Hands down my favorite of all time! It hydrates without being too heavy.
Depending on if I’m wearing makeup or not, I will put on my under eye brightening stick. If I’m not wearing any I’ll put this on top of my moisturizer, but if I am, I will gently dab it over my concealer. Mama needs this nowadays!
At the end of the day, everybody’s skin is different. Everyone will like and dislike different things. With that being said, you need to do what is best for YOU. When trying out Beauty Counter though, I guarantee you they will have something you can try based off your skin type. The reviews on their site speak for themselves, along with the effort they put into to making sure all the products are clean and environmentally friendly. Huge win in my book!
If you decide to shop some Beauty Counter products (ones that I mentioned or others) make sure to shop through the links above or click here. Just like when using LiketoKNOW.it, by shopping through the links it gives me credit–which helps support me & my little fam. Thank you in advance!
