Our first bedroom reveal–finally! Now that this is up I feel like this is where the ball really gets rolling. Next up are the most exciting rooms in my opinion (living, dining, and kitchen) and I’m SO excited to officially reveal those. Until then though, lets talk all things extra bedroom.
As of now, this room functions as a guest bedroom and an office. Tim is currently working from home full-time and there are no plans as of now for him to go back in the office. With this room mainly being used by him, his stuff takes up a majority of the room and the decor. I was able to pick the desk and the chair, but now that this work from home situation is getting more permanent, he’s wanting to change some things out–like for a more comfy chair to start with. I let him hang his sports decor on the wall because I wanted him to enjoy being in here because, after all…he is in this room 5 days a week for 9 hours a day. As you can tell, decor wise it is very all over the place because his sports teams don’t necessarily go with Hobby Lobby decor, ha!
I had this room planned from the beginning and before we even moved into this house, half of the furniture for this bedroom was bought. Now looking back, I probably should’ve waited, but you can’t blame me. I was just too dang excited! Since then though, I’ve changed styles of home decor and now work with an interior designer, Nicole from NN Designs. Originally I was thinking I wanted to go full farmhouse style for our home, and now that I’ve decorated more I’ve added a few modern touches making it Modern Farmhouse. As I mentioned on stories (you can follow me on Instagram here), this room is going to undergo a lot of changes over the next few years–at least that’s what I think. Another nursery? A shared office? Just a guest bedroom? A playroom? We have no idea how long Tim will be working at home for, and we also have no idea when baby #2 is coming, yet alone if they will share rooms with our first boy or not. With that being said, I’m not in love with how this room looks. Design wise, it could be so much better. But you know what? It works. It functions. Guests have a place to sleep. Tim has a place to work. And it’s still pretty dang cute. I’m thankful to be able to have a three bedroom house to have the extra space that we do, and at the end of the day, I’m excited to see what upcoming changes this bedroom will go through, if any.
Now that I’ve given you the backstory on this bedroom, here are the details. Like I mentioned earlier, everything was purchased sort of awhile ago at this point. Not a lot is in stock, available or sold anymore, but I did my best to link everything I could along with similars. As this room changes in the future, I will be sure to update this post with new items that I add in or any big updates. I hope this at the very least gives you some ideas or inspiration for yourself!
