Baby in Bloom | My Baby Shower

I can’t believe my baby shower was officially over a month ago! Time is now flying by that we are in the final countdown until baby boy’s due date. My mother-in-law and one of my closest friends (who also happens to be the photographer!) put together and hosted the most beautiful shower to celebrate our boy. I’m one of those girls that has had everything planned out since she was a little girl, and Pinterest boards with all the details for everything in her life! Honestly though, since the beginning of Tim and I’s relationship and since the talk of having kids, we never thought we were getting a boy. We always thought we “knew” that we would get a girl first. Safe to say my brain was preparing for that and I always kept ideas for boy nursery’s and baby showers in the back of my head, thinking I would never get one. So to my surprise when we confirmed we were having a boy, (my gut feeling switched to boy as soon as I got pregnant–I could just feel it), I actually had to come up with new ideas. Sydney helped me decide on this theme and I felt like it was perfect! The accents of blue for a boy were a nice touch mixed with some of the girly things I still wanted.

In order to save a little money, we decided to host an afternoon shower and go with serving light snacks instead of having to cater a meal for everyone. Now, serious question: who doesn’t love charcuterie?! I haven’t met a single person who doesn’t! This was perfect to keep our guests full and happy–not to mention the beautiful spread. We got so many compliments on not only the looks of the food table, but also the food itself! And of course, you can’t forget about dessert. I’m a huge sweets lover so it wouldn’t be an event about Danielle if donuts from Krispy Kreme and all things sweet didn’t make an experience! One of my good friends whom I met during high school took up baking during quarantine as a hobby and turned it into a mini side business. The cake was to die for (and I’m not a cake person) along with the cookies and cake pops!

Besides keeping everyone full and happy, I wanted to make sure to have a main area that was set up for photo opportunities. All my friends know I love taking photos and having a beautiful backdrop is key! We were all blown out of the water by Courtney and her setup. I told her what I was thinking, gave her some inspiration pictures to follow and bam. She brought my vision to life! It was definitely the star of the show when people entered the courtyard.

Below I tagged as many vendors as I could, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
